Report an environmental health concern
The Environmental Agency receives and investigates a wide range of environmental and public‑health concerns across Gibraltar. To ensure your report is directed to the correct team, we group complaints into the categories below.
Issues outside our remit such as roads, parking or transport matters are automatically routed to the appropriate authority.
When you submit a report, Environmental Health Officers assess the information and determine the appropriate response. Some matters require immediate investigation, while others may be referred to partner authorities.
You will be informed if your concern falls outside the Agency’s remit.
Waste and Recycling
Illegal dumping, improper waste storage, commercial waste issues, recycling breaches, or concerns about waste contractors.
Animals
Animal fouling or issues with pet imports/exports.
Food Safety and Hygiene
Issues with food premises, unsafe food, poor hygiene practices, suspected food poisoning, or concerns about imported food.
Pest Control
Rodents, cockroaches, mosquitoes, flies, or other public-health pests in public areas or commercial premises.
Environmental Pollution
Air quality concerns, odours, smoke, dust, chemical spills, water pollution, beach contamination, or environmental hazards.
Public Health & Safety
Hygiene risks, insanitary conditions, infestations in public spaces, or risks to human health.
Housing Environmental Conditions
Damp, mould, ventilation issues, insanitary conditions, or environmental health concerns in rented accommodation.
Noise & Nuisance
Construction noise, commercial noise, persistent disturbances, or statutory nuisance concerns.
Commercial Compliance and Licensing
Unlicensed operations, breaches of environmental permits, improper storage of chemicals, or unsafe commercial practices.
Border & Import Controls
Issues relating to food imports, animal imports, and waste exports (TFS/Annex VII).
Other Environmental Concerns
For anything not clearly fitting the above categories.
